The 2026 election of ISOC Los Angeles and Southern California Chapter Officers will be administered by the Election Committee in accordance with the Chapter Bylaws and the 2026 Election Guidelines.

Candidate Eligibility

To be eligible to run for a Chapter Officer position, a candidate must:

  • Be a Chapter member whose membership was established by October 1, 2026;
  • Be at least 18 years of age; and
  • Reside in Southern California, in accordance with the Chapter Bylaws.

All nominees who wish to proceed as candidates must complete the Candidate Confirmation Form. The Election Committee will verify candidate eligibility and contact a nominee if additional information or clarification is needed.

Nominations and Candidacy

Nominations will be open from October 1 through October 15, 2026.

Chapter members may nominate themselves or another Chapter member. Submit a nomination here.

A self-nomination constitutes acceptance. A member nominated by another person must  confirm their candidacy by completing the Candidate Confirmation Form by October 22, 2026. If the form is not submitted by the deadline, the nomination will be considered not accepted.

Each candidate may run for one officer position only. A person nominated for more than one position must select one position.

The Candidate Confirmation Form will include the information required for eligibility verification. Candidates whose eligibility is confirmed will be asked to submit a candidate statement of up to 300 words and a recent photo by October 25, 2026, for publication with the official candidate information.

The final list of eligible candidates, along with their candidate statements and photos, will be published to Chapter members on October 28, 2026.

Candidate information will be made equally available to all Chapter members through official Chapter communications

Voter Eligibility

All Chapter members whose membership was established by October 1, 2026, are eligible to vote in the 2026 Chapter election.

No separate voter registration is required. The official Chapter membership roster as of October 1, 2026, will serve as the eligible voter list.

Voting Process

Voting will be conducted electronically from November 12 through November 18, 2026.

  • Every eligible voter will receive an individual ballot at the email address associated with their Chapter membership.
  • Each eligible member may cast one ballot.
  • For each officer position, voters may select only one candidate.
  • Individual voting choices will remain confidential.
  • Once submitted, a ballot is final and cannot be changed.
  • A candidate running unopposed will still appear on the ballot.

The Election Committee may send voting reminders during the voting period.

Election Results

The election will be determined by the valid ballots received during the announced voting period.

For each officer position, the candidate receiving the highest number of valid votes cast will be elected.

If two or more candidates receive the same highest number of votes for a position, a runoff election will be conducted among the tied candidates.

The Election Committee will verify the results and announce the elected officers by November 20, 2026.

Election Committee

The Election Committee is responsible for administering the election in accordance with the Chapter Bylaws and these Election Guidelines, including verifying candidate eligibility, managing nominations and candidate information, administering the electronic voting process, and verifying and announcing the results.

Election Committee members may not be candidates in this election.

Member Communications

The Election Committee will communicate key election information and deadlines to Chapter members throughout the process, including the call for nominations, candidate information, voting instructions and reminders, and election results.

All candidates will receive equal treatment in official Chapter election communications.
